A close-fitting jersey tee with elbow-length sleeves that looks like one top worn over another. The under layer is only a contrast yoke at the neck and contrast bands at the sleeve ends and hem, tucked in behind the main tee’s edges and held by the hem topstitching.

- Two light cotton jerseys of about the same weight and stretch, such as fine single jersey or cotton-elastane. Mismatched weights make the bands drag.

- Yardage
- Main: 1.3 m of 150 cm wide fabric for XS to L, 1.4 m for XL to XXL (1.6 m and 1.7 m at 110 cm). Contrast: 0.4 m in every size (0.5 m at 110 cm), so a remnant will usually do.
- Notions required
- None. A twin stretch needle gives the double row of topstitching in the photograph, and a narrow zigzag also works.
- Stretch required
- A light jersey with good recovery, for both fabrics.
- Seam allowance
- 1 cm on the seams. Hems 1.6 cm, bindings 0.75 cm. The body neckline and the top edge of the yoke have none, because both are bound.

Finished garment, measured flat. Chest and hem are half the measurement all the way round. Length is centre back, neck to the bottom of the hem band. Inches / centimetres.
Key details
- The contrast shows by the same amount in every size: 2.6 cm at the neck, 6.4 cm at the sleeves and 4.5 cm at the hem.
- Pre-wash both fabrics so they do not shrink at different rates.
- Cut with 4 to 5 cm of room at the bust. It suits a bust of about 80, 85, 90, 95, 101 and 109 cm, XS to XXL. Between sizes, take the larger.
- Not the same as the Contrast Scoop-Neck 3/4 Sleeve Tee. This one has elbow-length sleeves and a little room in the body, where that one is cut smaller than the body.
