Key details

  • There are two seam allowances on this pattern, not one. Most of the tee is sewn at 1 cm, but the neckline and the twist slot are sewn at 0.75 cm. Mixing the two up is the easiest mistake to make here.
  • The twist is one short seam. A narrow slot is cut into the top of each sleeve and stitched shut down to a pinch only 4 mm wide, so the two 0.75 cm allowances are forced to cross over each other. A rounded window sits open below.
  • Both sleeves are cut folded together, right sides facing, so they come out as mirrors.
  • The V is deep. Its point sits 19 to 20 cm below the shoulder seam on every size. If that is lower than you want, the workflow shows how to raise it on the paper before you cut.
  • The neck band is a strip of your main fabric cut across the grain, not a separate rib. It is cut 3.1 cm wide, shows 0.8 cm finished, and goes on stretched to 95% of the neckline.
  • Sizing: pick the size whose finished chest is at or a little under your own chest measurement.
  • This tee shares a body block with the Contrast Scoop-Neck 3/4 Sleeve Tee, so the chest grade is identical in both.
